Bryan Symphony welcomes Noe Inui to stage Feb. 19 for ‘alla turca’ program
(COOKEVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 24, 2012) -- From Mozart to Rossini, Beethoven to Haydn, the craze for all-things Turkish flourished in the Classical era – and it’s a sound that remains as relevant today in symphonic music. Up-and-coming violinist Noe Inui will perform Mozart’s Turkish Concerto with the Bryan Symphony at its next concert, which begins at 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 19, in Wattenbarger Auditorium. Also on the program: Rossini’s Overture to The Turk in Italy, Haydn’s mighty Military Symphony, and the gorgeous, melodious and contemporary Domes, a nocturne by Kamran Ince, a Turkish-American composer in residence at the University of Memphis. The February performance by the Bryan Symphony is sponsored by Albert and Rosemary Ponte and Angelo and Jennette Volpe. Call 931-525-2633 for ticket availability.
