April Concert Events

Every performance of the Bryan Symphony Orchestra is an event unto itself…but because we all love a good party, we also schedule a number of special informational and social events celebrating each concert of the subscription year. BSO staff and volunteers plan and coordinate these activities for music lovers:

  • Preview Luncheons. These catered lunch gatherings feature insightful presentations by BSO Music Director Dan Allcott. Reservations are necessary; call 931-372-6088. Held in Crossville the Wednesday before each concert and in Cookeville the Friday before most performances.

  • Symphony Socials. During these delightful evenings, friends of the symphony enjoy good company, delicious food and drink and learn more about the upcoming concerts and other symphony news. Reservations are necessary; call 931-372-6088.

  • Prelude and Coffee. Join Maestro Allcott and BSO Executive Director Gail Luna for these televised informal conversations which are produced by and aired on local public television affiliate WCTE, Ch. 22 (local cable channel 10). The shows are generally broadcast the Thursdays before each concert, with a reprise the Saturday before. The program is hosted by Kristin Wells.

  • Concert Preview. Learn more about the compositions you're about to hear by attending preview lectures prior to each subscription concert. Pianist and professor Catherine Godes leads these presentations in Room 223 of the Bryan Fine Arts Building.

  • Music Lovers' Dinner. Follow up your concert experience with an early Sunday dinner at Mauricio's, a fine-dining experience in Italian cuisine located in a beautifully restored Victorian-style home at 232 North Peachtree Avenue, just a few blocks from the TTU campus. Reservations are necessary; call 931-372-6088.
