A sneak peek at the next season of the BSO

Expect music from some of the world’s most beloved composers — Mozart, Strauss, Beethoven, Prokofiev and more — during the Bryan Symphony Orchestra’s 2010-2011 season.

From the orchestra’s popular outdoors concert, opening the season on Labor Day weekend this year, to guest appearances by world-class soloists as well as local talent, the coming season promises music for every taste.
  • Sunday, Sept. 5: Light classics, movie soundtracks and patriotic favorites.
  • Sunday, Oct. 10: Richard Strauss’s tone poem Don Juan and Mozart’s Piano Concerto no. 22 in E-flat, performed by Belgian pianist Steven Vanhauwaert.
  • Sunday, Nov. 14: Beethoven’s Symphony no. 7 and Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf.
  • Sunday, Feb. 13: Vaughn Williams’s Fantasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis for Solo String Quartet and Orchestra, as well as our traditional concerto performance by the winner of the Joan Derryberry Memorial Competition.
  • Sunday, March 20: Haydn’s “London” Symphony and the Elgar Cello Concerto with guest artist Steve Doane, professor of violoncello at the University of Rochester’s Eastman School of Music.
  • Sunday, April 17: Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms featuring the Tech Chorale and Cookeville’s Mastersingers. Season tickets are available now.
